6 Week Intensive Course

July 9th to August 17th, 2018

 Recommended for young men and Women that are college age, but is open to all adults age 16 and up.

Must be available for training Monday and Thursday mornings from 9am to 10:15am, course includes training on Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday nights. 7 Hours of training per week.

Training sessions take place at Tiger Martial Arts, 3058 Hempstead Turnpike, Levittown NY.

6 week intensive course for young adults to learn how to fight and survive an attack in the real world.

Course members will learn:
How to strike properly with an open hand and closed fist, and what situations to use different strikes.
How to kick with speed and power.
How to perform take downs and how to avoid being taken down.
What to do on the ground in various scenarios, and how to perform chokes and joint locks.
What to do when grabbed or approached.
How to use the various "Clinch" positions to strike, control, and defend against an attacker.
Basic physical fitness and proper stretching routines.
How to spar realistically and safely.
The different tactics used between Sport and Survival.
What to do in various scenarios, ie: being followed, threats, strategies to deescalate potential violence.
How to be aware of your surroundings and safety strategies.
Visits and lecture by law enforcement personnel, discussions on weapons and use of weapons.
This is not a self defense class with prearranged attacks... You will actually learn how to fight. You will learn how to train safely and correctly with resistance. For example, In this course, someone will be trying to throw you to the ground to pin and choke you, someone will be trying to hit you, and the instructors will be pushing you past your current limits. The training is intense, rewarding, fun, and might just save your life one day.

Specifically designed for college students and young adults but open to all ages 16 and up.

You will learn the techniques of Boxing, Kickboxing, Karate, MMA, Jiujitsu, Sambo, and Combat Grappling (no gi submission grappling). The course is streamlined to develop skills in the shortest amount of time
$249 includes all the classes and training times listed below

$100 deposit to reserve your spot, with $149 balance due first day of training. Due to the nature and intensity of this program, space is limited.

Learn to Fight! course members should plan to make the majority of the Monday and Thursday morning training sessions. Yes, that means getting out of bed early and being ready for training at 9:00 AM. There is nothing better than getting up early to train, feeling great, and then heading to the beach or whatever you do to enjoy your summer day!

Q. When does training start? How often should I attend?

A. Monday July 9th, 2018 at 9am is the first day of training and it is very important for course members to make as many of the morning sessions as possible. All of the evening classes help reinforce the skills introduced each week to the Learn To Fight! Course. The course will progress quickly from week to week, to get the most benefit you should try to attend as much as possible.

Q. The course sounds intense, i want to learn self defense but I'm not sure about sparring or grappling live and if it's something I would be afraid to try?

A. Sparring with striking will not be introduced until week 5. You will not be forced to do anything you do not feel comfortable doing. however, we have a training method of developing our students to spar safely with very little occurrence of injury. For the course to be successful and pass on meaningful skills in 6 weeks, we need everyone to be safe and be able to work safely with a partner.

Q. How much can I really learn in 6 weeks? Will I be able to defend myself?

A. The term defense, or "self Defense" is something we don't like to use too much. You will be learning how to fight and how to fight back aggressively. let's assume you have no previous training and are in average shape. Our program will show you how to strike properly with speed and power with your hands, fists, elbows, feet and knees.You will learn how to keep balance and remain on your feet against someone attempting to grab you or take you down. We can't prepare for every scenario, and there are no guarantees against violence, even a knife or gun isn't a guarantee against an attacker. The guarantee in the course is that you will hit harder in week 6 than you did in week 1. You will be harder to take down, harder to hold down, and you will be harder to hit. You will know how to strangle someone unconscious. These things give our students confidence and the ability to have a greater chance of staying safe, fighting back, and surviving in a sometimes violent world.

Q. Tell me about the classes and training? Am I going to be made to feel intimidated? Yelled at? Are the fitness requirements extreme?

A. Training is fun at our Dojo! We want to build you up to become a fighter, a warrior, not tear you down. Nobody is made to feel intimidated, the atmosphere is very welcoming, and everyone is treated with respect. The fitness involved is just enough to get you to do the training involved and develop team spirit with the other members in the course, there are no "crush it!" workouts, that will leave you unable to move at all the next day. That being said, each training session involves such a wide range of activities that you will be using just about every muscle in your body. Especially when it comes to grappling, so some soreness is to be expected. The facility has 2800 sq ft of mat space, heavy bags, and all other various equipment needed for the course.
